Volunteer Strategy – A Practical Guide to Interesting your Visibility and Traction by Ang Cuy, Executive Manager, Youth Services, YMCA Victoria.
Description: Are you frustrated by marathon strategy planning sessions that result in huge documents gathering dust on a shelf somewhere for the next three years? Or have you been tasked with writing a strategic plan with no idea where to start? Perhaps you are interested in how to better communicate your passions and plans to your stakeholders? In this session, Ang will guide workshop attendees through a series of practical steps to develop strategic plans for their own volunteer programs. Focusing on actionable, practical and easy to communicate strategies, she will be sharing some of her best tips and tricks, gleaned from developing countless strategy plans over the last decade with community groups, NGOs, corporate teams and executive boards.
Speaker Bio: Ang Cuy, CVA, is the Executive Manager of Youth Services (Civic Engagement & Volunteer Development) for YMCA Victoria in Australia, and has worked in the volunteer engagement sector for over 25 years. Still a very active volunteer herself, Ang is also the current President of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria, a volunteer role which sees her heading up the peak body for a network of over 100 members theatre companies. A passionate and vocal advocate for volunteers, Ang is also a sought-after speaker, facilitator and trainer on both a local and global level.
