4/14/2011

Event Description
Presenter: Jennifer Flowers
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT/2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
AL!VE Webinar series presents a train the trainer workshop.

Have your presentations become old and outdated? Are you looking to inspire and influence change with your speaking skills and presentation style?
Join us for this training workshop that will review the basic training techniques and provide strategies for updating your current trainings and presentations. Participants will explore the unique learning needs of adults, how to create engaging and effective trainings, facilitating vs. instructing, and how to avoid “death by PowerPoint.” Attendees are encouraged to participate and share their own best practices with the group. The facilitator will also incorporate interactive exercises to help attendees practice skills and hone new approaches to training. This workshop is for anyone who currently facilitates or will facilitate trainings for volunteers, co-workers and/or key stakeholders.

This webinar will be presented by Jennifer Flowers, MBA, who has 15 years of experience as a volunteer manager and training director. Jennifer has facilitated training sessions for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including employees at social service agencies, allied-health professionals and those working in the pharmaceutical/medical device industries. Jennifer is currently president of Accreditation Guru, Inc. and provides consulting services to organizations across the US and Canada in variety of areas, including accreditation, performance and quality improvement (PQI), strategic planning, board relations and volunteer management strategies. Her former roles include Director of Volunteer Services and Accreditation Commission at Council on Accreditation (COA) in New York City. Jennifer is currently a Board member with the New York Association of Volunteer Administration (NYAVA).
