The recent resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement in national conversation—sparked by several high-profile murders of Black individuals at the hands of police—has increased the urgency many of us feel to build a more equitable society. Structural change starts with each of us actively working to become more understanding and empathetic advocates for justice. Join us and build your understanding of essential Diversity, Equity and Inclusion concepts and how to put them into practice in your organization. Leave with next steps for continuing your personal anti-oppression journey, addressing inequity in your volunteer program, and educating volunteers on best practices.

Learn How To:
• Define and discuss several building blocks of DEI work
• Gain comfort with engaging in dialogue about personal identity
• Integrate and implement DEI best practices in your organization

AL!VE Communities of Practice - Rural Communities Aug 18, 2 PM Eastern

Rural Communities of Practice (COP)
Volunteer Engagement Professionals in small towns face unique challenges and opportunities that aren’t always addressed by advice intended for city-based audiences. There are also fewer opportunities to connect with others doing similar work across the country. That’s what led to the creation of AL!VE’s Community of Practice (CoP) for volunteer engagement professionals in rural communities.

To register, click on the link below (you will need to register for each quarterly meeting separately).  For any questions about this, please contact Rebeccah Verhoff-Kiss, COP facilitator
