The Transformational Role of Volunteer Engagement Professionals
March 17, 2022 - Noon - 1 PM Eastern

It comes as no surprise to you that volunteer engagement professionals wear many hats. So many of the roles we play in our organizations require a high level of emotional intelligence and the soft skills needed to effectively engage and manage an unpaid workforce … our volunteers. How do we manage the expectations of our most active partners as they reassess how service fits into their lives? What effect has the last 2 years of uncertainty had on our volunteers and how does that impact our roles to authentically engage them in service to meet the mission? In this session, we will identify volunteers’ social and emotional needs and how we can transform our opportunities for engagement to meet their current needs, and build stronger connections with our organizations.

About our Presenter:
Rebecca Hand, MPA, CVA is the Volunteer Resources Coordinator for the City of Plano, Texas’ Volunteers in Plano program. She has been a leader of volunteers in the public sector for over ten years and specializes in training staff and volunteers to ensure impactful experiences that are mutually beneficial. Rebecca strives to move the field of volunteer engagement forward through her own volunteer service with the Dallas Association of Directors of Volunteers (DADV) where she serves as Membership Chair, Texas Volunteer Management Conference (TVMC) as Conference Chair and the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE) as a Mentor for newer volunteer engagement professionals . Rebecca is a top recipient of the 2020 AL!VE National Impact Award for her contributions to the field as a mentor, leader, trainer, and advocate. She earned her CVA in 2018 and holds her Masters in Public Administration specializing in Non-Profit Management from the University of North Texas.

AL!VE Academy Webinars are free for Individual, Agency and Local Association members.  The general public is welcome to attend, but will be billed $25 after attending and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request.
