During this online, roundtable forum, June 7 @ 2 PM Eastern, we’ll:

- Look at existing resources and discuss what’s currently working for us
- Share thoughts on additional needs for case building support
- Bring your questions and ideas for sharing during group discussions and breakouts – we want to hear from YOU!
- Learn about current, exciting Alliance SVE initiatives including:
Two national surveys, one for funders and one for nonprofit CEOs, to determine the current state of SVE

Join us for a 30 minute Q & A session for host sites about this year's Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference, titled 'Impact Evaluation: Data That Matters and Creating the Right Story'.  This hybrid conference broadcasts live October 18 or 19 (depending on time zone) from Hamilton, Ontario to host sites in the US and Canada.

National Networks COP:
Those working at a national level face different issues than those operating on a local or regional level. Often national level leaders are engaged in big picture, strategic or policy decision-making. Sometimes those operating at a national level don’t work directly with volunteers, but rather help empower others in their organizations who do. Join the discussion to connect and learn from others working nationally. We invite anyone looking to brainstorm around the unique issues facing volunteer leaders on a national level.  This COP group will be a chance to network, share expertise, ask questions, and solve problems with your peers. 

 *note* When you register, you will be automatically be registered for all the future COP dates (listed below) and monthly reminders will be sent - the COP will use the same zoom link.

This virtual Community of Practice supports volunteer engagement professionals managing programs in and across rural communities. These monthly peer-to-peer sessions address some of the challenges that come with operating in geographic areas with lower population numbers and that are located outside of more suburban and urban areas. Members use these sessions to troubleshoot issues, to give and receive support, and to share strategies, best practices, and resources for effective volunteer program management.

Local Associations Communities of Practice 
October 30, 1 -3 PM
Leadership from Local Associations are welcome to attend the Summit, and you do not have to be an AL!VE member to attend the summit. Network, learn, share and bring your questions to your peers. We will have small group discussions on several relevant topics for local associations. Get updates from AL!VE on the national level, network and we will ahve small discussion groups on these topics:
 
  • What do you want to tackle next year and are seeking advice about?
  • What tech/apps are making your work easier?
  • How can you be an influencer for your LA?
  • What has worked well for recruitment for you this year? Did you come up with anything new?

These Standards were revised and updated in May of 2022 by volunteer engagement professionals (VEP) for volunteer engagement professionals. Based on extensive research and experience, these Standards have been shown to deliver value to both the organization and individual volunteers.
 
This new version and the accompanying Self-Evaluation Tool were developed to be adaptable, relevant, and scalable within organizations of every size, structure, and industry. The Standards incorporate current trends in volunteer engagement such as inclusion and diversity, transformational volunteerism, and context-based volunteer management models.
 
The Standards can be useful to VEPs at every level of experience. Those who are new to the field can use these them as a guide for developing their organization's volunteer engagement programs. Those who are experienced VEPs and whose organizations have more established volunteer programs can use these them as a way to assess the effectiveness of their organization's volunteer engagement. In all cases, these Standards can be used to make the case for increased investment in and integration of volunteer engagement.
 
The AL!VE Standards are a living document, so the Standards Task Force will be soliciting feedback over the next year on their usability and effectiveness of these Standards so we can continuously update and improve them. We'll be developing training and support opportunities for interested users. Get the inside scoop by joining us for an introduction to these Standards at the next AL!VE Academy on June 24 @ 2 PM Eastern: Using Standards to Make Your Case: Introducing AL!VE's Standards for Organizational Volunteer Engagement.  The recording of the webinar will be posted here after the 26th.

The COP - Animal Welfare is designed to include a broad range of animal welfare organizations such as animal shelters, rescue groups, foster-based programs, sanctuaries, direct care for animals, and humane education programs. The objective of this COP is to connect volunteer engagement professionals within these organizations to share resources and best practices. This informal venue encourages open discussions for anyone seeking or offering advice in tackling the unique challenges facing volunteer leaders in the animal welfare field.
