July AL!VE Academy:  Improving Staff/Volunteer Relations through Staff Training

July 29, 1 PM - 90 Minutes
    (60 minute presentation, 30 minutes for additional Q & A, discussion and networking)

Do you struggle to create awareness in your staff surrounding your volunteer program and volunteer roles? Join Angela Williamson and Paula Allen as they discuss the two different staff trainings they use in their programs. Learn what prompted Angela and Paula to create training for staff, their two different approaches, and how it helps their programs. Leave with an understanding of how to frame success and possible roadblocks you could encounter in your own program, and take-away a template to create your own training for staff.

About our Presenters;

Angela Williamson, CVA loves plants, people, connecting  people  with their passions, learning, and creative endeavors. She's worked in volunteer  leadership roles for several  years. Currently she is at the Blood Bank of Delmarva, ALIVE Healthcare COP facilitator,  andon  the Board of Delaware Association of Volunteer  Administrators. She enjoys sharing and learning practical information.

Paula is the Volunteer Program Specialist for Satellite Healthcare, a non-profit dialysis company making life better for those living with kidney disease, where she is building the organization’s first volunteer engagement program.
Paula has a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Museum Studies. She achieved her Certification in Volunteer Administration in April of 2019 and immediately began looking for ways to connect with the wider volunteer management community. Paula was the Vice President of Programs and Advocacy at ALIVE in 2020 and 2021, launching  the DEAI committee in 2021, and supporting the Advocacy sub-committee. Currently she is a member of the Programs and Advocacy committee as well as the DEAI committee. She prizes the opportunity to collaborate with other volunteer engagement professionals to advance inclusive and proactive volunteer engagement everywhere.
In her work she focuses on three things: strategic planning; risk management; and diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.

AL!VE Academy Webinars are free for Individual, Agency and Local Association members.  The general public is welcome to attend, but will be billed $25 after attending and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request.  If you registered as a Local association member, please be sure you have listed your local association's acronym or name in the registration.
