November AL!VE Academy: Is Everybody Welcome? An Introduction to the Equity in Action Toolkit
Wednesday, November 6, 2pm Eastern
When segments of the community do not feel welcome in volunteer spaces, they may choose not to engage. The Assessing Diversity and Equity in Volunteer Inclusion (ADEVI) project is a multi-faceted investigation of the diversity of volunteer engagement professionals and the equity journey of organizations they work in. The project's guiding principle is that organizations that are attuned to inclusiveness will be able to engage a more diverse cross-section of their communities. ADEVI is a partnership between Arizona State University (ASU) the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA). The project is funded by AmeriCorps, a federal agency in the United States.

This workshop begins with a brief overview of the survey and focus groups that involved many AL!VE members. From there, the presenters will take attendees through the Equity in Action Toolkit. This field-building toolkit consists of resources to help leaders of volunteers apply an equity lens to the various aspects of their practice. It was created by over 25 CVAs (Certified in Volunteer Administration) in the US and Canada.
AL!VE Academy Webinars on any BDEAI topic are free for everyone. The general public is welcome to attend, and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request. The webinar recording will be on our home page under 'About Us' / Commitment to Community tab. |
