Those working at a national level face different issues than those operating on a local or regional level. Often national level leaders are engaged in big picture, strategic or policy decision-making. Sometimes those operating at a national level don’t work directly with volunteers, but rather help empower others in their organizations who do. Join the discussion to connect and learn from others working nationally. We invite anyone looking to brainstorm around the unique issues facing volunteer leaders on a national level. This COP group will be a chance to network, share expertise, ask questions, and solve problems with your peers.

Imposter Syndrome persists in Volunteer Administration for a variety of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is because in volunteer leadership careers, WHAT we DO is inextricably linked to WHO we ARE.
We'll take a deep look at the sort of attitudes and skills leaders of volunteers can cultivate in order to be successful. Your identity, who you are, might just be the most important tool in your volunteer toolbox.
About our Presenter:
Jared has volunteered - and lead volunteers - all his life. He discovered leading volunteers professionally after years of exploring a variety of for-profit, nonprofit, and ministry careers. After leading volunteers at a zoo through the Covid-19 pandemic, he stepped into a role with a local social services organization. He now leads volunteers for an AmeriCorps Seniors program to meet local community needs in East Tennessee.
AL!VE Academy Webinars are free for Individual, Agency and Local Association members. The general public is welcome to attend, but will be billed $25 after attending and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request. This virtual Community of Practice supports volunteer engagement professionals managing programs in and across rural communities. These monthly peer-to-peer sessions address some of the challenges that come with operating in geographic areas with lower population numbers and that are located outside of more suburban and urban areas. Members use these sessions to troubleshoot issues, to give and receive support, and to share strategies, best practices, and resources for effective volunteer program management.

AL!VE’s Presenter Boot Camp: Launching our first cohort February 2023!Are you a volunteer engagement professional seeking to elevate your virtual presentations? Do you have an idea for a topic or lived/professional experience but you don’t know how to turn it into a compelling narrative for a training? Do you freeze when tapped to lead educational content, or need to translate in-person training into engaging virtual experiences?
AL!VE is offering a Presenter Boot Camp available to AL!VE members only, which will address these needs and more in a focused 6 week course.
Professionals at any level can benefit from joining us. Pairing webinars with COP-style discussions, our training is designed to put theory into practice and lead you through creating a presentation from scratch.
When you complete the course and present your finished project, you will be certified as an AL!VE presenter, and receive CVA credits.
Join us in the first quarter of 2024 and level up your presentation skills. Save these dates; you need to attend all in order to receive the certification.

Museums & Cultural Institutions Community of Practice: This is an AL!VE Communities of Practice for those managing volunteers in museums, galleries, cultural and arts centers. Join us as we discuss and share insights and experiences that we are all having in the arts education/enrichment communities. COVID has posed certain challenges and changes for us all so let’s rely on each other for ideas and inspiration! This will be a time for networking, sharing ideas, asking questions, and brainstorming with your peers. This COP is hosted by AAMV (American Association of Museuem Volunteers) members; all AAMV members may attend.

National Networks COP:Those working at a national level face different issues than those operating on a local or regional level. Often national level leaders are engaged in big picture, strategic or policy decision-making. Sometimes those operating at a national level don’t work directly with volunteers, but rather help empower others in their organizations who do. Join the discussion to connect and learn from others working nationally. We invite anyone looking to brainstorm around the unique issues facing volunteer leaders on a national level. This COP group will be a chance to network, share expertise, ask questions, and solve problems with your peers.

March AL!VE Academy: Leading From Your Identity Presented by Jared Peer, CVAImposter Syndrome persists in Volunteer Administration for a variety of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is because in volunteer leadership careers, WHAT we DO is inextricably linked to WHO we ARE.
We'll take a deep look at the sort of attitudes and skills leaders of volunteers can cultivate in order to be successful. Your identity, who you are, might just be the most important tool in your volunteer toolbox.
About our Presenter:Jared has volunteered - and lead volunteers - all his life. He discovered leading volunteers professionally after years of exploring a variety of for-profit, nonprofit, and ministry careers. After leading volunteers at a zoo through the Covid-19 pandemic, he stepped into a role with a local social services organization. He now leads volunteers for an AmeriCorps Seniors program to meet local community needs in East Tennessee.
AL!VE Academy Webinars are free for Individual, Agency and Local Association members. The general public is welcome to attend, but will be billed $25 after attending and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request. Effective people management and community engagement is imperative – whether they be paid or unpaid. As a result, employers expect that those individuals tasked with mobilizing and coordinating volunteer engagement demonstrate a thorough knowledge of effective practices and an understanding of how to apply that knowledge in support of real-world organizational priorities.

Leadership from Local Associations are welcome to attend the Summit, and you do not have to be an AL!VE member to attend the summit. Network, learn, share and bring your questions to your peers. We will have small group discussions on several relevant topics for local associations. Get updates from AL!VE on the national level, network and we will ahve small discussion groups on these topics:

- How can you be an influencer for your LA?
