Experienced managers of volunteer programs have the opportunity to "tune-up" existing elements of their programs. Beginning managers of volunteers learn the elements of operating the most efficient and effective volunteer programs. Complete all five courses in the series to receive a professional development certificate from PSU's Institute for Nonprofit Management of the School of Public Administration. This unique, international, competency-based program recognizes practitioners with at least 3 years of experience in the field of volunteer resources management. Originally developed decades ago by the Association for Volunteer Administration, the CVA program is now sponsored by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. Registration for the next cycle will remain open until March 1, 2012. (Register by December 31 and save money with the special Early Bird discount!) Candidates registering for this cycle will be expected to take the on-line Exam at local sites in May 2012, and will have until December 2012 to complete the written Portfolio component.
